When
reading the article Don’t Confuse Technology With College Teaching, I
was very biased towards the idea of not replacing teachers with technology. I
felt strongly about having a physical teacher in class, one who you can ask
question to and get feedback right away. But after reading this article, I
changed my views on only having teachers teach students. I see now that in some
situations, it isn’t the best way. For example, some student may not be able to
make it to class or campus because of work or they may be disabled in some
sort. So online class would probably be the only way for those students to
continue to go to school.
Technology is only
getting better and more and more schools are upgrading so students can now find
everything they need to if they missed a class or test online. It makes it a
lot easier for students and less stressful. Also, Technology can make education
better. For instance, buying books for school can be expensive but technology
has it where you can an eBook edition and download it straight from online onto
your computer or ipad at half the price. That is perfect for college students
on a budget.
After reading this article, my opinion has
changed about technology and teaching but I would still learn better in a
classroom with an actually teacher but for some students, technology is the way
to go.
I like what you had to say, I think you should use an example of yourself as a student and try to compare with a student that would be taking online classes

ReplyDeleteI agree completely with your views on this subject. Not everyone has lives the same life style. Also, have you thought of people that excel on computers or that are just antisocial? These online class courses would be perfect for them. They could have some class time from their bed at home!
